leaf cookies from Trader Joes. They taste like a maple bar, but are packaged in cookie form. Yeah, best cookie ever.
Last weekend, during out weekend off the grid, we indulged in multiple bacon themed desserts. Some were weird and will not likely be repeated. However, one particular dessert was pretty amazing. Bacon maple cookies!
We started with the maple leaf cookies, opening them up to prep for the bacon. Then we smoked some bacon from the deli counter (we decided to go big on this one) and cut it into bite sized pieces. We sandwiched the bacon in the maple cookie and voila!
The last few didn’t last long!
I guess you could replace the bacon with turkey bacon if you want to make the “healthy” version….but you should probably live a little and eat the real stuff 🙂

In the Eat This Not That book it says to eat the real bacon over the turkey bacon…can’t remember why tho’.
