name isn’t your typical run of the mill name. I’ve only met a few others named Bryn in my life and all but 1 have spelled it differently.
I’ve been mistaken for Bryan more times than I can count. People skim the name quickly and call out for Bryan…..I answer to Bryan Miyahara. It just makes things easier.
I’ve also been called numerous other names….no, no, not what you’re thinking, different variations of names that start with B.
Recently, I’ve learned that an acquaintance thinks my name is Bree. I honestly have no idea how this happened. I don’t even remember ever being introduced to them. One day, all of a sudden, I hear “Bree, Bree!” Who is Bree? But they said it with such confidence, I didn’t know what to do. Fast forward 6 months….still getting called Bree. Here’s what’s strange, all of our other mutual friends know my name is BRYN. I know that my real name has been said in front of them….but no…still Bree. What’s a girl to do? I’ve waited too long. So awkward!
One reply on “Kinda awkward…”
Oh no! You can correct her. No need for you to be embarassed, she’s the one who should get her hearing checked.
Our neighbor calls Bryan “Brett” all the time. I think he’s even corrected him.
