Seattle gets such a bad rap. As soon as anyone learns I’m from Seattle, they ask me about rain and if I ever get depressed. I joke and tell them that I hate people with umbrellas and that a beautiful summer day in Seattle beats the pants off of a nice day almost anywhere else…..but you never know when those nice days might happen.
We spent a long, 4th of July weekend in Seattle and were able to visit with lots of friends and family.
We visited Pike Place and had some snacks with my sister at her restaurant, Seatown. Delicious. We had some oysters and salmon burgers. Highly recommend both. And did I mention their happy hour is awesome?

and I bonded over Pike Place Market. For anyone out there that wants to sound “in the know.” Call it “the Market” or “Pike Place” or “Pike Place Market.” If you want to sound like a tourist, call it “PikeS Market” or “PikeS Place Market.”
We took in a Mariner’s game on a perfect Friday afternoon. I never even put my jacket on! Did I mention how awesome the seats were? We were calling every pitch. (Thanks to the Gimenezs!)
I was sporting my ’77 Road jersey (or so Nick claims) for “Turn Back the Clock Night.”
And I failed to take any pictures on the actual 4th of July. But trust me, it was beautiful.

Looks like I’m going to have to pay your sister a little visit!
